Bagshot is a small developing town in Surrey, England which is located on the A30 and M3 motorway. It is a residential suburb of the south-western outskirts of London. The town has a train station that connects it to London Waterloo. Bagshot railway station serves the South Western Railway network and was opened in 1838 by the London and Southampton Railway Company.
The history of Bagshot dates back to the Iron Age when it was inhabited by the Celtic tribe of Atrebates. In 1066, William the Conqueror built a castle in Bagshot which was later destroyed by Henry VIII during the English Reformation.
There are many shops and restaurants in Bagshot including Waitrose, Costa Coffee, Co Op and Greggs. There are also three pubs in the village - The Three Mariners, Kings Arms and The Foresters Arms.
